President Prabowo Subianto has set a target for Danantara Indonesia\nto provide a minimum contribution of USD 50 billion or Rp800 trillion to\nthe state annually.<\/p>\n
In his address marking Danantara\u2019s first anniversary at Wisma\nDanantara in Jakarta on Wednesday, Prabowo stated that the target\nderives from a calculated minimum return on assets (ROA) of 5% from the\ntotal assets managed by Danantara.<\/p>\n
He noted that well-performing companies typically achieve a minimum\nROA of 10% annually. However, for Danantara, only a 5% annual target has\nbeen set, as it is only one year into its mandate to manage state\nassets.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe understand that this may not be achievable in the initial years.\nIf we achieve only 5% ROA, it means Danantara must return USD 50 billion\nto the state annually, Rp800 trillion,\u201d Prabowo said.<\/p>\n
The President emphasised that Danantara must have long-term targets\nfor state asset management. Going forward, Danantara is expected to\nachieve 10% to 15% ROA annually.<\/p>\n
Nonetheless, the President expressed appreciation for Danantara\u2019s\nperformance in its first year. He also reminded the organisation that it\nwill face many challenges ahead.<\/p>\n
\u201cI remind you that the target remains quite distant. You must be able\nto return a minimum of 5% to the state. A minimum of USD 50 billion,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Prabowo noted that Danantara has demonstrated very strong\nperformance over the past year, achieving an ROA of over 300%. The\nPresident said this achievement demonstrates the significant potential\nof managing state-owned enterprise (SOE) assets when handled in an\nintegrated and professional manner.<\/p>\n
The formation of Danantara is regarded as a strategic step to\nconsolidate various state assets in order to provide greater added value\nto the national economy.<\/p>\n
President Prabowo also warned his staff against submitting false\nreports or reports that do not reflect actual conditions. He emphasised\nthat there should be no report manipulation.<\/p>\n
