        "content": "<p>Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has claimed that the\ngovernment\u2019s ability to deploy hundreds of helicopters, aircraft, heavy\nequipment and thousands of personnel to handle various natural disasters\nis inseparable from the results of closing budget leaks and eradicating\ncorruption.<\/p>\n<p>The statement was made by Prabowo when discussing the handling of a\nnumber of natural disasters that have occurred recently, from Aceh to\nEast Nusa Tenggara (NTT), during the launch of the 100 GWp solar power\nplant programme, as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat\u2019s YouTube\nchannel on Tuesday (25\/8\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow can we now overcome problems, have hundreds of helicopters, be\nable to handle heavy equipment if we do not have money. Where does that\nmoney come from? That money comes from what we have saved, from the\ncorruption that has been going on all this time. We have stopped those\nleaks,\u201d said Prabowo, quoted on Thursday (26\/10\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>However, Prabowo considers the results achieved so far to be\ninsufficient. He stressed that the government must still work harder to\nensure every rupiah of state money is used effectively and on\ntarget.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are not satisfied yet. We must be even harder in managing all\nfinances,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n<p>On that occasion, Prabowo also touched on the government\u2019s efforts to\ndeal with the impacts of El Ni\u00f1o and various other disaster threats. He\nsaid he had carried out direct checks in a number of regions to ensure\ninter-agency coordination was running effectively.<\/p>\n<p>Based on his monitoring, the synergy between regional governments,\nministries\/agencies, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the\nIndonesian National Police (Polri), the National Disaster Management\nAgency (BNPB), the Ministry of Environment, and the Ministry of Forestry\nwas considered to be working well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have travelled around to several places, I checked myself. Thank\nGod, all elements of regional government, ministries\/agencies, TNI,\nPolri, BNPB, Environment, Ministry of Forestry, are all working\neffectively,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Prabowo, the cross-sector coordination has begun to show\nresults so that various disaster impacts and drought threats due to El\nNi\u00f1o can be better mitigated.<\/p>",
