President Prabowo Subianto announced that PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI) has identified a potential US$5 billion in additional state revenue from monitoring export transactions of strategic commodities. In just over two months, DSI monitored over 6,000 export transactions of coal, palm oil, and ferro alloy, uncovering significant price discrepancies. The President stated that DSI will expand its oversight to 50 ports across 25 provinces and include all leading commodities to prevent practices like under-invoicing that have cost the nation dearly.

President Prabowo Subianto revealed that PT Danantara Sumber Daya
Indonesia (DSI) has identified potential additional state revenue of up
to US$5 billion from the supervision and monitoring of export activities
for a number of strategic commodities.

This was conveyed by Prabowo at the Indonesian Parliament Complex in
Jakarta on Friday, 14 August 2026. The President stated that within 2
months and 13 days since its establishment in May 2026, PT DSI has
monitored more than 6,000 export transactions involving three strategic
commodities: coal, palm oil, and ferro alloy.

“DSI has identified a potential additional US$5 billion solely from
price differences and adjustments. Ladies and gentlemen, from the
payment of export proceeds, imagine if in the future all of our export
commodities are monitored and managed by PT DSI, how much the increase
in revenue entering the state would be,” said Prabowo during his state
address as part of the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative
Assembly and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives and the
Regional Representatives Council.

For this reason, the President continued, PT DSI will expand the
scope of its supervision to 50 ports across 25 provinces. Furthermore,
PT DSI will also broaden its oversight beyond the three strategic
commodities to include other leading commodities.

“PT DSI will manage all of our strategic commodities, not just three.
We no longer want the Indonesian nation to be cheated; Indonesia’s
wealth must not enrich a handful of people while leaving our people
living in hardship. This is not only unjust, it is not the attitude of a
wise state. Our goods, our property, yet others determine the price,”
said the President.

According to the President, the fraudulent practices that have
frequently occurred in the export transactions of these strategic
commodities have violated economic principles and market principles.

On the same occasion, the President cited the example of
under-invoicing fraud occurring in palm oil exports.

“Previously, Indonesian crude palm oil was sold at Indonesian ports
for around Rp15,000 per kilogram, while the price on the Rotterdam
exchange in the Netherlands was Rp27,000 per kilogram. Yet in the
Netherlands there is not even a single hectare of oil palm plantations.
This means we were effectively losing almost 50 percent of the value of
our commodity,” he said.
",
