"summary": "President Prabowo Subianto has urged the development of alternative technologies to lessen Indonesia's heavy reliance on imported Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), whose prices have surged recently due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. During a meeting with Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brin Yuliarto, Prabowo called on universities to conduct research into viable alternative energy sources to support the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The price hike stems from global oil market disruptions, including the closure of key shipping routes like the Strait of Hormuz, exacerbated by conflicts involving the US, Israel, and Iran in March 2026.",
