President Prabowo Subianto delivered material directly at the retreat\nfor DPRD chairmen across Indonesia, held at the Military Academy (Akmil)\nin Magelang, Central Java, on Saturday afternoon (18\/4).<\/p>\n
The retreat for DPRD chairmen at both provincial and district\/city\nlevels throughout Indonesia was organised by the National Defence\nInstitute (Lemhanas) at Akmil Magelang since mid-week.<\/p>\n
Prabowo stated that when invited by Lemhanas to give a speech and\nmaterial at the DPRD chairmen\u2019s retreat in Akmil Magelang, he insisted\non not being represented. In fact, Prabowo continued, his staff had\ninformed him that his attendance could be represented at the national\nDPRD chairmen\u2019s retreat.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I was asked to attend and informed about this event, some of my\nstaff suggested \u2018Sir, you can be represented, no need for you to go\npersonally\u2019,\u201d said Prabowo in his speech, which was met with applause\nfrom the national DPRD chairmen attending the retreat at Akmil Magelang,\nquoted from the broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat (Setpres)\nYouTube channel.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut after I learned that this is all DPRD chairmen from across\nIndonesia, I considered it important and appropriate for me to attend in\nperson,\u201d he emphasised, again met with applause from the audience.<\/p>\n
Prabowo admitted he wanted to attend personally because the moment\nallowed him to speak from the heart and straightforwardly.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a son of the nation, today I want to speak from the heart. I want\nto speak plainly; perhaps what I say later might not please everyone,\nsome might feel offended, some might feel sad,\u201d he added, stating that\neveryone there is a patriot.<\/p>\n
Earlier, Prabowo arrived at the Akmil Magelang area around 10:06 WIB.\nHis arrival was welcomed by Lemhanas Governor Ace Hasan Syadzily and\nInterior Minister Tito Karnavian.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Ace stated that the mission of holding the national\nDPRD chairmen\u2019s retreat from provincial to district\/city levels at Akmil\nis to ensure that the people\u2019s representatives have integrity and\nstatesmanlike character.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn this occasion, we report that this KPPD has been ongoing for five\ndays, Mr President, from 15 to tomorrow 19 April 2026, at the Tidar\nValley of the Military Academy in Magelang. A place where national\nleaders are forged and trained, attended by 503 DPRD chairmen,\u201d said Ace\nHasan.<\/p>\n
Ace described Prabowo\u2019s presence at the national DPRD chairmen\u2019s\nretreat as a pride and honour for Lemhanas. Ace also asked Prabowo to\nprovide guidance to the regional legislative leaders.<\/p>\n
According to him, the position of DPRD chairman is key in bridging\nregional interests with the national agenda.<\/p>\n
He explained that during the event, participants have received\nmaterial on strengthening national values sourced from four basic\nconsensuses: Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the\nRepublic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.<\/p>\n
In addition, retreat participants were also invited to refresh their\nknowledge of the nation\u2019s struggle history, geopolitical developments,\nnational resilience, national vigilance, and national leadership, with\nspeakers from the Indonesian Lemhanas.<\/p>\n
Ace also explained that members of the Merah Putih Cabinet in\nPrabowo\u2019s government contributed material to the retreat. The reason, he\nsaid, \u201cTo understand, support, and succeed in the great vision of the\nPresident\u2019s ideals.\u201d<\/p>\n
