President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto delivered a\nbriefing attended by all his aides in the Merah Putih Cabinet, including\nheads of agencies and BUMN leaders.<\/p>\n
In the briefing, Prabowo touched on the barrage of criticism against\nthe government, likening it to the attitudes of villagers in communal\nefforts to build a bridge. On that occasion, he also explained the\ncurrent safe condition of Indonesia amid global turmoil, one of which is\ndue to the war in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
He mentioned that Iranian fighters are stubborn in defending their\ncountry. It began with him recounting how he is sometimes called a\nstubborn critic.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we are criticised, regard it as a warning so that we remain\nvigilant. \u2018Prabowo is stupid\u2019, I become vigilant, \u2018if I am stupid, it\nmeans I gather smart people to help me\u2019,\u201d said Prabowo at the\nPresidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday (8\/4) afternoon.<\/p>\n
\u201c\u2026\u2018Prabowo is stubborn\u2019, yes, I must accept that as\u2013try touching my\nhead, is it hard or not,\u201d he continued jokingly.<\/p>\n
After that, he then touched on Iran, which is currently facing the\nUnited States (US) and Israel.<\/p>\n
\u201cSometimes, stubbornness in a task is needed now. People say the\nIranian people are stubborn, the fighters are stubborn, repeatedly\nthreatened, but I do not interfere in other countries\u2019 domestic\npolitics,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
He also then touched on the founding fathers of Indonesia who were\nstubborn in fighting foreign colonisation.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the past, our nation\u2019s founders were stubborn, better to die than\nbe colonised again,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMerah Putih is non-negotiable, no such thing,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Therefore, Prabowo emphasised that his side must face criticism with\na calm and wise attitude.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, brothers and sisters, we respond with calmness, with wisdom, but\nwe hold firmly to our principles, namely the principles of statehood,\nthere is no state without law, no state without the basic constitution,\nwithout the constitution,\u201d said Prabowo.<\/p>\n
A briefing is a meeting or gathering held to convey information about\ncurrent issues or situations.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Wednesday morning, Prabowo gathered all\nministry\/institution ranks at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Lieutenant Colonel TNI Teddy Indra Wijaya\nsaid those present would include the ranks of the Merah Putih Cabinet\nministers along with all Echelon 1 in Ministries\/Institutions.<\/p>\n
In addition, he said all Directors General\/Deputies as well as BUMN\nPresidents\/Directors were also present.<\/p>\n
