President Prabowo Subianto has stated he is prepared to confront\nvarious forms of resistance from groups that have long benefited from\nillegal economic practices and harmed the nation. He made the remarks\nwhile leading the Pancasila Day commemoration ceremony in Jakarta on\nMonday, 1 June 2026.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Prabowo noted that national economic transformation\nwould not be straightforward, as it faces challenges from those who have\nprofited from corruption, smuggling, and other illegal economic\nactivities.<\/p>\n
\u2018We will face obstacles, challenges, and possibly resistance from\ngroups supporting corruption, smuggling, and illegal economic\nactivities,\u2019 Prabowo said.<\/p>\n
According to the President, these groups show no concern for the\nnation\u2019s future and are even attempting to weaken Indonesia from\nwithin.<\/p>\n
\u2018We may face resistance from those who do not love this country and\neven wish to undermine Indonesia,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n
Prabowo Emphasises Courage to Make Difficult Decisions<\/p>\n
Prabowo stated that a great nation must have the courage to make\nimportant decisions for the people\u2019s benefit, even if they are difficult\nto implement.<\/p>\n
He affirmed that his leadership would not choose the safe path that\nonly yields short-term gains at the expense of future generations.<\/p>\n
\u2018As a great nation, we must have the courage to make the right\ndecisions, however difficult. We must be willing to defend our people,\u2019\nPrabowo said.<\/p>\n
The President also stressed that protecting the people is part of the\nhistorical responsibility he now carries as the 8th President of the\nRepublic of Indonesia. He said the mandate was directly given by the\nIndonesian people.<\/p>\n
Prabowo stated he does not wish to enjoy temporary comfort while\nignoring the nation\u2019s long-term interests.<\/p>\n
