President Prabowo Subianto has opened the possibility of reshuffling\nhis cabinet ahead of the second anniversary of his administration. The\nNational Awakening Party (PKB) has left the decision entirely to\nPrabowo.<\/p>\n
\u201cA cabinet reshuffle is entirely the President\u2019s prerogative because\nthe President understands the cabinet\u2019s performance and is authorised to\nensure the right man in the right place, as the President himself\nstated,\u201d said PKB Central Executive Board Chairman Daniel Johan when\ncontacted on Friday (18\/9\/2026).<\/p>\n
Daniel Johan believes that the most important factor is that\ngovernment performance becomes increasingly solid following any\nreshuffle. He added that priority programmes should continue to run\neffectively.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe important thing is that government performance becomes more\nsolid and priority programmes\u2014including those touching the agriculture\nand fisheries sectors, food security, and public welfare\u2014continue to\nprogress so that the economy grows and jobs are created,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Possibility of Cabinet Reshuffle<\/strong><\/p>\n Previously, President Prabowo did not rule out the possibility of\nconducting a cabinet reshuffle at the two-year mark of his\nadministration. Prabowo believes that cabinet members should have had\nsufficient time to prove their performance.<\/p>\n This was stated by Prabowo during an interview on the \u2018Prabowo\nMenjawab\u2019 programme on Wednesday (16\/9\/2026), while responding to\nquestions regarding the upcoming second anniversary of his\nadministration. Prabowo was asked about his level of satisfaction with\nhis ministers\u2019 performance and the possibility of a reshuffle.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, it is like this: if I am evaluating continuously and objectively\nup to now, I must say that my team is working okay. However, I also tell\nmy team, remember, much like a football team, there are starters,\nstrikers, and substitutes. Therefore, I am focusing first because\nIndonesia\u2019s problems are so complex; we must focus on the fundamentals,\u201d\nPrabermowo replied.<\/p>\n Prabowo explained that there are several ministries that are, in\nterms of terminology, not at the \u2018front line\u2019. He noted that these\nministers are working according to their capabilities and authority.<\/p>\n \u201cSo at this time, there are several ministries that are, so to speak,\nnot at the front line, but they understand. And they work according to\ntheir own initiative,\u201d said Prabowo.<\/p>\n Prabowo added that a cabinet reshuffle would be necessary to place\nthe right people in the right positions.
