Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto opened a plenary\ncabinet meeting entitled \u201cThe First Two Years of Government: Real Work\nfor the Nation\u201d at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
At the meeting, Prabowo praised the members of the Red and White\nCabinet and highlighted the various global challenges the government had\nfaced over the past two years.<\/p>\n
Prabowo said the government had spent the past two years working\ntogether and confronting a range of challenges, from geopolitical\nconflicts to economic and trade competition between countries.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have spent two years together, worked together for two years and\ncarried out the mandate entrusted to us by the people for two years. We\nhave faced various challenges,\u201d Prabowo said as he opened the plenary\ncabinet meeting.<\/p>\n
He said the global environment was marked by crises, conflicts and\nwars in various parts of the world. Alongside open warfare, competition\nwas also taking place in the fields of economics and trade, including\nthrough tariff policies.<\/p>\n
These conditions also affect other countries, as the global economy\nbecomes increasingly integrated and interdependent.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are in a global situation characterised by hegemony among the\nworld\u2019s major powers. This global situation will inevitably affect every\ncountry, because our world is interconnected and we depend on one\nanother,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Alongside geopolitical and economic challenges, Prabowo highlighted\nthe impact of changing weather patterns, which he said had caused\nvarious upheavals. Indonesia also faced geographical challenges because\nit lies in the Pacific Ring of Fire and is therefore vulnerable to\nnatural disasters, he said.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, Prabowo said the country\u2019s geographical position also\noffered opportunities. The geological activity that shaped Indonesia had\nhelped create fertile soil and valuable mineral resources.<\/p>\n
At the meeting, Prabowo also thanked and praised all members of the\nRed and White Cabinet for their cooperation during the government\u2019s\nfirst two years.<\/p>\n
He said the government\u2019s success depended not only on individual\nability, but also on cohesion and the ability of all officials to work\nas a team.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to thank you for the cohesion and teamwork you have shown\nover these two years. The success of a government is determined by\nteamwork,\u201d Prabowo said.<\/p>\n
He said effective cooperation was more important than relying solely\non highly capable individuals who were unable to collaborate.<\/p>\n
Prabowo also asked cabinet members to recognise the work achieved\nduring the first two years of his administration. He said those\nachievements were a source of pride, without warranting complacency.<\/p>\n
