The meeting was attended by Deputy Speakers of the House of\nRepresentatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal;\nCommission XIII member Rieke Diah Pitaloka; Legislative Body chair Bob\nHasan; DPR Expertise Agency head Bayu Dwi Anggono; IPB University\nFaculty of Human Ecology dean Sofyan Sjaf; and Ministry of National\nDevelopment Planning (Bappenas) secretary Teni Widuriyanti.<\/p>\n

\u201cMr President stressed that data sovereignty is a key foundation for\nsafeguarding national unity amid the tide of digitalisation,\u201d the\nCabinet Secretariat said in a post on its social media account, @sekretariat.kabinet<\/span>.<\/p>\n The meeting discussed strengthening national data governance through\nthe drafting of the One Data Indonesia Bill, with participation from the\nDPR, academics, and relevant ministries and agencies.<\/p>\n The Cabinet Secretariat said national data integration was expected\nto support more accurate public services while strengthening the\nsecurity of information exchange.<\/p>\n \u201cData integration is expected to support more accurate public\nservices, as well as strengthen the security of information exchange and\ncyber resilience,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n The bill is also intended to establish national data governance that\nis integrated, secure and accountable.<\/p>\n With a more integrated data system, the government is expected to\nhave a stronger information base for delivering services to the\npublic.<\/p>\n The drafting of the legislation was described as an effort to\nstrengthen integrated, secure and accountable national data governance.\nIt is also intended to ensure that the use of data improves the quality\nof public services and safeguards Indonesia\u2019s sovereignty.<\/p>",
