Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subiability has stated that\nIndonesia is set to receive large-scale investments in the coming\nweeks.<\/p>\n
During the \u201cPresident Prabowo Answers\u201d programme, as released by the\nGovernment Communications Agency in Jakarta on Wednesday, President\nPrabowo expressed this optimism by referring to several economic\nindicators which he believes show that Indonesia\u2019s economic fundamentals\nremain strong amidst global economic volatility.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the next few weeks, just wait, there will be massive investments\nentering Indonesia. It will be massive,\u201d said Prabowo.<\/p>\n
He noted that investment realisation up to June 2026 had reached\nRp1,010 trillion. This figure indicates that investment activity\ncontinues to proceed in accordance with the targets set in the State\nBudget (APBN).<\/p>\n
In 2025, investment realisation was reported to have reached Rp1,931\ntrillion. This investment has also been noted to have contributed to job\ncreation.<\/p>\n
Throughout 2025, there were 2.7 million new jobs created. Meanwhile,\nin the current year of 2026, the government has recorded the opening of\napproximately 1.4 million jobs.<\/p>\n
President Prabowo emphasised that these investments do not stem from\ngovernment programmes, but rather from investment activities entering\nIndonesia amidst ongoing global volatility.<\/p>\n
According to President Prabowo, his confidence in the influx of\nlarge-scale investment is based on his meetings with several major\nglobal business players. These investors, he said, view Indonesia\u2019s\neconomic fundamentals as a primary reason for committing capital to the\ncountry.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have met major players in the world; they are coming to Indonesia\nbecause they know our economic fundamentals are strong and secure,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
President Prabowo also linked this optimism to several of Indonesia\u2019s\nmacroeconomic indicators. He highlighted the low inflation rate, the\nrelatively low debt ratio, and a deficit that remains below the 3 per\ncent threshold.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur economy is good. Our inflation is one of the lowest in the world\nat 2.92 per cent. Just imagine,\u201d said President Prabowo.<\/p>\n
He then compared Indonesia\u2019s deficit position with several other\nnations. According to President Prabowo, Indonesia\u2019s deficit is below 3\nper cent, while the Philippines reached approximately 6 per cent, India\n4.6 per cent, and France 5.4 per cent.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, everyone trusts Indonesia. That is why they want to come\nto Indonesia. I am very optimistic,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The government\u2019s optimism emerges at a time when competition for\nglobal investment flows is becoming increasingly critical for developing\nnations. For Indonesia, inflation stability, state budget management,\nand debt and deficit levels are key indicators monitored by investors\nwhen assessing a country\u2019s economic resilience.<\/p>\n
The Head of State also assessed that Indonesia\u2019s long-term economic\nprospects remain immense. He referred to Goldman Sachs projections,\nwhich estimate that Indonesia could become one of the world\u2019s largest\neconomies by 2050.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe whole world is certain that Indonesia will become the 6th, 5th,\nor 4th largest economy in the world by the year 2050, which is 25 years\nfrom now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
