President Prabowo Subianto stated that the government\u2019s major\ntransformation will not proceed without obstacles. He acknowledged\nvarious challenges and resistance will arise, particularly from parties\nthat have benefited from corruption, smuggling, and illegal economic\nactivities.<\/p>\n
The remarks were made by Prabowo while presiding over the Pancasila\nBirth Anniversary Ceremony in Jakarta on Monday, June 1. He stated that\nfundamental changes aimed at bringing Indonesia to prosperity and\nself-reliance require courage to make difficult decisions.<\/p>\n
\u2018A major transformation is not easy. We will face obstacles. We will\nface challenges. We may also face resistance from groups that favour\ncorruption, smuggling, and illegal economic activities,\u2019 Prabowo\nsaid.<\/p>\n
He also warned that resistance does not only come from those engaged\nin economically harmful practices, but also from those deemed\nindifferent to national interests and continually seeking to weaken\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, Prabowo stressed that the Indonesian nation must not\nfalter in the face of such pressure. He said a great nation must have\nthe courage to make the right decisions for the people, even if the path\nis fraught with challenges.<\/p>\n
\u2018We may face resistance from those who do not love the homeland and\nseek to undermine the Republic of Indonesia. But a great nation must be\nbrave; we must have the courage to make the right decisions even when\ndifficult. We must stand up for our people,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
Prabowo emphasised that the government must not be trapped in\npolicies offering only short-term gains. Every decision must be geared\ntowards safeguarding future generations, not merely meeting immediate\nneeds.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Prabowo also stressed that true independence cannot be\nseparated from prosperity. A nation, he said, cannot be truly sovereign\nif it remains dependent on other countries to meet its basic needs.<\/p>\n
He reminded that in difficult times, no other country will fully take\nresponsibility for Indonesia\u2019s fate. Therefore, the Indonesian nation\nmust build its own strength and stand on its national capabilities.<\/p>\n
\u2018No country is independent without prosperity. We do not want to be a\nnation dependent on others, for truly, no other nation will feel sorry\nfor us or help us when we struggle, when our people are hungry and in\nhardship,\u2019 he stressed.<\/p>\n
Prabowo then cited the spirit inherited from Indonesia\u2019s first\npresident, Soekarno, on the importance of national self-reliance. He\nsaid the principle of standing on one\u2019s own feet is the core of a truly\nsovereign nation.<\/p>\n
Before the ceremony attendees, Prabowo highlighted Pancasila\u2019s role\nas Indonesia\u2019s unifying force for 81 years. Amidst ethnic, linguistic,\ncultural, and customary diversity, Pancasila has proven capable of\nmaintaining national unity.<\/p>\n
He recalled that many doubted Indonesia could remain united due to\nits high diversity, yet it has stood as a cohesive nation to this\nday.<\/p>\n
Prabowo believes Indonesia\u2019s future will grow stronger if Pancasila\u2019s\nvalues are consistently applied across all aspects of life, from\npolitics, law, society, culture, to the economy.<\/p>\n
\u2018I am confident that when we earnestly implement Pancasila in\npolitics, law, society, culture, and especially the economy, Indonesia\nwill not only become a developed and prosperous nation but also a\nrespected one by others due to the well-being of its people,\u2019 he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
According to Prabowo, Indonesia\u2019s grand vision is not merely to\nbecome an economically advanced nation, but also a strong one through\nunity, prosperous through justice, and respected for upholding human\nvalues. Indonesia is also expected to play a role in promoting global\npeace.<\/p>\n
Therefore, the Head of State urged all Indonesians to preserve and\nuphold Pancasila\u2019s values as the foundation of national development.<\/p>\n
