        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto\nstated that the case of the acid attack on KontraS activist Andrie Yunus\nconstitutes a serious criminal act classified as terrorism. He\nemphasised that the acid attack on Andrie Yunus must be thoroughly\ninvestigated all the way to the masterminds behind the incident. \u201cThis\nis terrorism. This is a barbaric act. We must pursue it. We must\ninvestigate it. We must investigate it!\u201d Prabowo said, quoted from a\nrelease by the Indonesian Communication Agency (Bakom), Thursday, 19\nMarch 2026. Prabowo explained that law enforcement must not stop at the\nfield perpetrators but must be able to uncover the intellectual actors\nbehind the incident. \u201c(Including) who ordered it, who paid for it,\u201d he\nstated. Furthermore, Prabowo affirmed that the state will not tolerate\nany form of violence against citizens, including against activists who\nvoice criticism. This was revealed by the TNI Deputy\nChief of Staff for Military Police, Major General (Mayjen) TNI Yusri\nNuryanto. Yusri said he had only received information regarding the\nalleged involvement of the four TNI soldiers that morning on Wednesday,\n18 March 2026. \u201cSo this morning, I received from the TNI Denma Bais,\nfour people suspected of carrying out the assault against Mr Andrie\nYunus,\u201d Yusri said during a press conference on Wednesday, 18 March\n2026. Yusri explained that the four TNI soldiers have been secured. His\nside is currently delving into the motive behind the acid attack on\nAndrie Yunus. \u201cSo we are also still investigating what the motive is\nfrom the four suspected perpetrators,\u201d he stated.
