Prabowo explained that the\nregulation provides that exports of Indonesia\u2019s natural resource\ncommodities, such as palm oil up to coal, must pass through a\nState-Owned Enterprise (BUMN) as the sole exporter. \u2018Today, the\nGovernment of the Republic of Indonesia, which I lead, has issued a\nGovernment Regulation on the Governance of Exports of Natural Resource\nCommodities,\u2019 Prabowo said at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, on\nWednesday (20 May 2026). \u2018The issuance of this Government Regulation is\na strategic step to strengthen the governance of export of our natural\nresource commodities. The sale of all our natural resource products,\nstarting with palm oil, coal, and iron alloys, must be conducted through\na BUMN designated by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia as the\nsole exporter,\u2019 he said. Prabowo said that this PP aims to strengthen\noversight and monitoring of export activities in Indonesia. \u2018In other\nwords, the proceeds from each export sale will be passed on by the BUMN\ndesignated by the Government to the business operators managing those\nactivities.
