Prabowo hopes Germany will play an important role\nin Indonesia\u2019s cooperation and partnership in Europe. \u201cWe agreed to\ncontinue increasing the mutually beneficial volume of trade and\ninvestment. I emphasised the importance of Indonesia-Europe relations\nand we hope the Indonesia-European Union CEPA agreement can reach a\nsubstantive conclusion. We hope Germany will continue to play an active\nrole in the finalisation process of the internal agreement in Europe so\nthat it can immediately provide concrete benefits for businesses in both\ncountries,\u201d said Prabowo alongside Steinmeier at the Merdeka Palace,\nJakarta, Monday (15\/6\/2026). Besides the Indonesia-European Union CEPA,\nIndonesia is cooperating with Germany through the CITA programme, namely\nthe Competitiveness Industrial Modernization and Trade Acceleration\nProgram. Prabowo invited all German economic entities to expand\ninvestment in a number of strategic fields. \u201cIndonesia also invites the\nGerman side to expand investment in important sectors in Indonesia. For\nexample, in the field of energy transition, industrial downstreaming,\nand vehicles as we are moving towards electric vehicles, as well as the\ndevelopment of the semiconductor industry,\u201d said Prabowo. Prabowo also\ninvited Germany to participate in developing the supply of critical\nminerals and rare earths.
