President Prabowo Subianto has invited American business leaders to\ninvest in Indonesia. The head of state delivered the message at a\nbusiness summit held at the United States Chamber of Commerce in\nWashington, D.C.<\/p>\n
Before the assembled business figures, Prabowo affirmed Indonesia\u2019s\nposition as an attractive and formidable investment destination. He\nnoted that Indonesia possesses natural resource wealth that is not only\nabundant but also strategically significant. However, he said,\nIndonesia\u2019s investment appeal does not end there.<\/p>\n
He stated that Indonesia is currently driving accelerated\nindustrialisation, opening up new investment opportunities across\nvarious sectors. \u201cWe are very open to investment. We need investment and\nwe want more investment. We are confident that we are competitive and\nattractive,\u201d Prabowo said in the United States on Wednesday, 18 February\n2026, as quoted from a statement by the Prabowo Media Team.<\/p>\n
Prabowo explained that, in terms of natural resources, Indonesia\nholds reserves of critical minerals such as nickel, copper, and bauxite,\nwhich are essential raw materials for the technology sector. \u201cI believe\nwe have strength in critical minerals. I have also received reports that\nIndonesia is one of the countries with the largest rare earth reserves\nin the world,\u201d Prabowo said.<\/p>\n
On the industrialisation front, Prabowo stated that Indonesia is now\nfocused on downstream processing of natural resources. He cited as an\nexample that the Danantara Investment Management Agency (BPI) would\ninitiate 18 downstream processing projects this year, including a\nwaste-to-energy project worth US$3 billion, or approximately Rp50.4\ntrillion.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe continue to advance in industrial downstream processing, where\nDanantara serves as the primary driving force. We are moving very\nquickly in these sectors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, Prabowo added that Indonesia remains committed to\nmaintaining the investment climate through regulatory certainty, law\nenforcement, and good governance.
