Prabowo stated that he always endeavours to seek input from\nindividuals with specific expertise in a particular field before making\ndecisions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhy was I successful as an officer? Because I always seek out\nexperts,\u201d he remarked.<\/p>\n
Prabowo specifically requested that experts provide input regarding\nthe best steps to prevent fires in forest areas, particularly those\ncontaining peatlands.<\/p>\n
The Head of State proposed three main points for discussion: measures\nto prevent forest fires, specific measures for forest areas containing\npeat, and the possibility of utilising peatlands productively.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs experts, please tell me: what is the best step for us to prevent\nforest fires, firstly? Secondly, regarding forest areas that contain\npeat. Two things. And thirdly, what I ask for is your advice: can we\nutilise this peat towards a productive direction?\u201d said Prabulate.<\/p>\n
The President also requested scientific input regarding peatland\nmanagement, including the possibility of planting crops on such land, so\nthat fire prevention can be implemented through a knowledge-based\napproach.<\/p>\n
Prabowo noted that the government has implemented physical mitigation\nsteps, such as preparing firefighting equipment, reservoirs, and pumps\nbefore fires occur. However, he maintained that specific scientific\nsolutions for peatland areas are also required.<\/p>\n
