So I hope that in three to four years we\ncan also produce petrol from plants,\u201d President Prabowo Subianto said\nduring the peak celebration of the 79th National Cooperatives Day at\nIndonesia Arena, Jakarta, Sunday. According to the President, the\ndevelopment of agricultural commodity-based fuels is expected to improve\nthe welfare of farmers, including cassava, maize, and other commodity\nfarmers, while simultaneously boosting growth in the agricultural\nsector. \u201cIt means cassava farmers will live prosperously, maize farmers\nwill live prosperously, farmers across Indonesia will do their best for\nthe nation and for their own families,\u201d he said. He stated that the\nutilisation of oil palm-based fuel has allowed Indonesia to stop\nimporting diesel starting this month. \u201cJust a few days ago we launched\nB50, diesel that is 50 percent from oil palm. Oil palm farmers are in\nIndonesia, palm oil is in Indonesia. Starting this month, we no longer\nimport diesel from abroad,\u201d he said.
