He stated that the government is still considering when\nthe construction of the massive sea barrier will begin. \u201cBecause it\nrelates to the available resources,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Didit emphasised the importance of utilising resources alongside\nenvironmental protection aspects in the construction of this massive sea\nbarrier. \u201cOne of the main things is that we can utilise environmental\nmatters, so we absorb things related to waste,\u201d said Didit.<\/p>\n<p>The government plans to build a sea barrier spanning 535 kilometres\nfrom the tip of the Banten coast to Gresik, East Java, in response to\nthe threat of rising sea levels due to land subsidence.<\/p>\n<p>President Prabowo has previously stated that this project can no\nlonger be delayed. He mentioned that the project has been in the\nNational Development Planning Agency\u2019s planning since 1995, during the\nera of his father-in-law\u2019s government, Soeharto.
