President Prabowo Subianto outlined a series of achievements,\npolicies, and targets of his administration during the MPR Annual\nSession and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD on Friday (14\/8\/2026).\nThe presentation covered economic conditions, food and energy\nself-sufficiency, the restructuring of state-owned enterprises (BUMN),\nas well as developments in education, health, and social protection.\nPrabowo stated that his administration has been running for 21 months,\nor 663 days, producing 121 transformative policies. He also revealed\nvarious figures regarding investment, economic growth, BUMN profits,\nforeign exchange savings, export supervision, village development, and\nprogrammes that directly impact the public.<\/p>\n
Regarding the economy, investment throughout 2025 reached Rp1,931\ntrillion, creating more than 2.7 million jobs. Investment in the first\nhalf of 2026 reached Rp1,010 trillion, creating over 1.4 million jobs.\nThe economy grew by 5.61% in the first quarter of 2026 and 5.45% in the\nfirst half of the year, which was claimed as the highest first-quarter\nand first-half growth in 13 years. Prabowo stressed that growth is not\nthe ultimate goal; every investment must generate jobs and improve\npeople\u2019s welfare. The government is also building a Carbon Unit Registry\nSystem and a carbon economic value exchange based on international\nstandards.<\/p>\n
On food security, Indonesia claimed to have achieved self-sufficiency\nwithin one year, faster than the initial target of four to five years.\nEight commodities declared self-sufficient are rice, corn, consumer\nsugar, chicken meat, eggs, shallots, large chillies, and bird\u2019s eye\nchillies. The government is still pursuing self-sufficiency in garlic,\nsoybeans, beef, and buffalo. For energy, Indonesia reportedly stopped\nimporting diesel as of 1 July 2026, supported by B50 biodiesel\nproduction, a policy estimated to save Rp170 trillion or US$9.5 billion\nin foreign exchange annually.<\/p>\n
Prabowo emphasised that BUMN belong to all Indonesian people, not to\ndirectors or commissioners, and are not a source of funds for those in\npower. He noted there were 1,074 BUMN including subsidiaries and\nsub-subsidiaries, many of which were deemed unproductive with excessive\nlayers of management. A total of 290 companies have been closed, with\nthe total number of BUMN targeted to be a maximum of 300 by the end of\n2026. The restructuring has resulted in overhead savings of\napproximately Rp50 trillion per year, with funds redirected to\ninvestment, industrialisation, and public services. BUMN profits\nincreased from Rp186 trillion in 2024 to Rp326 trillion in 2025, a\ngrowth of 75.3%. Dividends rose from Rp85.5 trillion to Rp142.3\ntrillion, with net dividends after deducting state capital injections\n(PMN) increasing from Rp53 trillion to Rp138 trillion. The 2026 dividend\nis projected to reach Rp200 trillion without additional PMN.<\/p>\n
Prabowo also announced that Pegadaian together with Bank Syariah\nIndonesia manages 153 tonnes of gold worth approximately Rp360 trillion\nor US$20 billion.
