        "content": "<p>President Prabowo Subianto greeted residents of Nagekeo Regency, East\nNusa Tenggara (NTT), who are victims of the earthquake, asking whether\nthe Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme has been beneficial for\nthem.<\/p>\n<p>He posed the question during a visit to an earthquake evacuation post\nin NTT on Wednesday (26\/8).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI received a report from the Regent that the people of Nagekeo\nRegency have felt the benefits of the MBG programme. Is that true?\u201d\nPrabowo asked.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTrue,\u201d the residents replied.<\/p>\n<p>Prabowo asked the residents whether they wanted the MBG programme to\nbe continued in the future. He stated that the programme is important\nfor improving the nutrition of children and pregnant women in\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we should continue it so that our children are healthy, so\nthat our pregnant women are healthy, and so that the elderly are safe as\nthey enjoy their later years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday (26\/8), Prabowo visited Nagekeo Regency, NTT, to\ndirectly monitor the post-earthquake handling efforts.<\/p>\n<p>During a coordination meeting with relevant officials at the\nTerritorial Development Battalion in Nagekeo Regency, Nagekeo Regent\nSimplisius Donatus said that his constituents are very pleased with the\npresence of the MBG programme.<\/p>\n<p>He said the MBG programme has had a positive impact on student\nachievement in schools in Nagekeo.<\/p>\n<p>A magnitude 7.7 earthquake shook the Flores region and its\nsurroundings on 15 August. Head of the National Disaster Management\nAgency (BNPB) Lieutenant General TNI Suharyanto reported on Wednesday\n(26\/8) that the death toll from the East Nusa Tenggara earthquake had\nrisen to 105 people.<\/p>\n<p>He delivered the report before President Prabowo Subianto during a\nmeeting at the NTT Earthquake Handling Post in Nagekeo on Wednesday\n(26\/8).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMr President, we report that the death toll stands at 105 people,\u201d\nSuharyanto said.<\/p>\n<p>He said the number of injured stands at 1,678 people, while the\ncurrent number of displaced people is 179,037.<\/p>\n<p>Suharyanto explained that the number of people directly affected by\nthe earthquake was actually 48, while the other 57 were the result of\nfollow-up search and rescue operations by Basarnas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe complete data is indeed the result of SAR operations carried out\nby Basarnas, then those treated at health facilities who did not\nsurvive, and there were also those who suffered trauma, the elderly, and\nchildren, adding 57 so that the death toll now stands at 105 people,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The number of damaged houses currently stands at 81,436 units.\nSuharyanto also said that the three most severely affected regencies are\nManggarai, East Manggarai, and Nagekeo.<\/p>",
