        "content": "<p>The Investment Management Agency (BPI) Danantara has now operated for\none year since its establishment at the beginning of President Prabowo\nSubianto\u2019s administration. Prabowo expressed gratitude that Indonesia\npossesses an agency equivalent to a Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF)\nglobally.<\/p>\n<p>This was stated by Prabowo whilst providing direction at Danantara\nIndonesia\u2019s first anniversary celebration in Central Jakarta on\nWednesday (11 March 2026). He even referred to Danantara as one of the\nsixth-largest SWFs in the world.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are grateful, yes, we now have an agency that can be equated with\na Sovereign Wealth Fund in the world. We are grateful that Indonesia now\nhas a Sovereign Wealth Fund perhaps the sixth, seventh largest in the\nworld, yes,\u201d Prabowo said.<\/p>\n<p>Prabowo acknowledged his gratitude because Danantara\u2019s management has\nbeen assessed as performing well over the past year. According to him,\nthe management of state wealth through this institution has been on the\ncorrect path.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith good management, especially with the right will, yes, with\npolitical will, with the right spirit, results are already visible,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>He even received a report that Danantara\u2019s Return on Assets (RoA)\nincreased by 300 per cent over the past year. Nevertheless, Prabowo\nbelieved that the current RoA achievement of around 5 per cent remains\nfar from the ideal target.<\/p>\n<p>A well-performing company should ideally have an RoA standard of 10\nper cent, even 12-15 per cent. He asked Danantara\u2019s management to\nincrease the RoA so that more assets are returned to the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf good is 12 per cent, if excellent is 15 per cent. We should have\na good target of 10 per cent. But we understand that in the first years\nwe might not be able to achieve that,\u201d Prabowo explained.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, Prabowo also acknowledged that Danantara bears a\nheavy responsibility. This institution is entrusted with managing and\nconsolidating all state assets as national wealth.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the magnitude of this responsibility aligns with\nthe meaning of the name Danantara, which is an abbreviation of Daya\nAnagata Nusantara. Daya means strength or energy, whilst Anagata means\nthe future.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo Danantara must protect and manage the strength and energy of our\nnation for the future. That is how important Danantara is. This is\nDanantara\u2019s first anniversary. Of course we are always grateful,\u201d\nPrabowo said.<\/p>",
