President Prabowo Subianto has once again issued a warning regarding\nthe global situation, which is fraught with uncertainty due to ongoing\nwarfare. This warning was delivered by Prabowo during a meeting with\nmembers of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) from\nboth central and regional levels at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta\non Friday (31\/07\/2026).<\/p>\n

According to Prabowo, a major war is occurring in Europe,\nspecifically in Ukraine. He noted that the duration of this conflict has\nalready exceeded that of World War I and may potentially last longer\nthan World War II.<\/p>\n
\u201cWorld War II began in September 1939 and ended in mid-May 1945. That\nwas five years or four and a half years. The Ukraine war began in 2022.\nWe have gone through 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, and have now entered 2026.\nThe Ukraine war might even last longer than World War II. Millions have\nalready fallen victim,\u201d Prabowo stated.<\/p>\n
The Chairman of the Gerindra Party added that war in one part of the\nworld has far-reaching consequences, impacting food prices, fuel prices,\nand other essential commodities.<\/p>\n
Prabowo noted that while the war in Ukraine remains unresolved, the\nsituation in Gaza, Lebanon, and the wider Middle East has escalated even\nfurther. \u201cIn the Gulf region, the Strait of Hormuz, and Iran, the\nsituation remains unresolved and is likely to persist for quite some\ntime. Furthermore, we cannot underestimate the danger of nuclear war,\nboth in Ukraine and the Middle East,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He also pointed out that conflict is occurring within the ASEAN\nregion, which is traditionally considered a zone of peace. In Myanmar, a\ncivil war is raging involving armed militias supported by other nations.\n\u201cOur friends, Thailand and Cambodia, are also experiencing battles\nfraught with tension.
