        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto has formed a Task\nForce (Satgas) to implement clean energy in Indonesia. The task force\nwill oversee the conversion of Diesel-Fired Power Plants (PLTD) to Solar\nPower Plants (PLTS) and the conversion of conventional motorcycles to\nelectric motorcycles.<\/p>\n<p>The formation of the Task Force was announced by Energy and Mineral\nResources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia after a limited meeting with\nPresident Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on\nThursday (5\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The plan includes the 100 gigawatts for PLTS, as well as renewable\nenergy, and also acceleration of the conversion of our motor vehicles \u2013\nabout 120 million motorcycles that use petrol \u2013 we will try to implement\nthis gradually towards electric motorcycles,\u2019 Bahlil said on\nThursday.<\/p>\n<p>Bahlil disclosed that he has been mandated by President Prabowo to\nserve as the coordinator or chair of the Task Force.<\/p>\n<p>Prabowo wants clean energy to be implemented in Indonesia within 3-4\nyears.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The President is keen on immediate implementation and, God willing,\nwe will proceed in a relatively short period. The President said it\ncould be up to 3 to 4 years, or even faster,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We can reduce subsidies, because converting from PLTD to PLTS will\nimprove electricity subsidy efficiency while also accelerating the use\nof motorbikes and electric cars,\u2019 he explained.<\/p>\n<p>Under the plan, the government will roll out subsidies for electric\nmotor conversions, as has been done so far.<\/p>\n<p>According to Bahlil, about 200,000 electric motorcycles are converted\nfrom petrol-powered motorcycles to electric each year.<\/p>\n<p>However, subsidy formulations are still being discussed further.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Something like that (subsidy), but we will look for a good formula.\nThe Satgas was only announced today.
