Chairman of the Indonesian People\u2019s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Ahmad\nMuzani said President Prabowo Subianto continues to pay close attention\nto the tense situation in the Middle East following the United States\nand Israel\u2019s attacks on Iran. Muzani said Prabowo has also briefed\nformer presidents and party leaders on Indonesia\u2019s position in the Board\nof Peace (BoP), the US-initiated body.<\/p>\n
\u2018BoP is part of an effort to accelerate the Palestinian people\u2019s\nindependence and the reconstruction, rehabilitation of Palestine. And\nthat is the main objective of BoP\u2019s creation. However, there is this\nIran issue, which I think is what he explained more clearly last night\nin the meeting with former presidents, former foreign ministers, and\nparty chairs,\u2019 Muzani told reporters at the Presidential Palace,\nJakarta, on Wednesday (4 March 2026).<\/p>\n
Could Prabowo evaluate Indonesia\u2019s position in BoP? Muzani recalled\nIndonesia\u2019s non-permanent membership in BoP. According to him, Indonesia\ncould withdraw from that international board at any time. \u2018For\nIndonesia, entering and exiting BoP is something that can happen, as has\nbeen said by presidents. We could withdraw at any time, but again that\nmust be by mutual agreement,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
Muzani said Prabowo had discussed a lot about the Middle East\nconflict with national figures. In the meeting held at the Jakarta\nIstana, the president provided detailed explanations about the latest\ndevelopments in the geopolitics that are heating up.<\/p>\n
