President Prabowo Subianto enjoyed lunch featuring the special Free\nNutritious Meal (MBG) menu alongside students from the Sekolah Rakyat\nMenengah Pertama (SRMP) 17 Tabanan, Bali, during a school inspection on\nSunday (7\/6).<\/p>\n
According to a statement from the Indonesian Government Communication\nAgency (Bakom) received in Jakarta, the moment occurred after the\nPresident delivered a briefing to students and parents at SRMP 17\nTabanan.<\/p>\n
\u201cReport! Lunch is ready to be served,\u201d one student announced, leading\nthe report to President Prabowo. \u201cProceed!\u201d Prabowo responded.<\/p>\n
The President then moved to the dining area frequently used by\nstudents for lunch. He took the opportunity to engage in brief\nconversation with the students, asking about their origins and living\narrangements on the island of Bali.<\/p>\n
Sitting amongst the students and parents of SRMP 17 Tabanan,\nPresident Prabowo heartily enjoyed the Free Nutritious Meal. \u201cIt is\ndelicious,\u201d one student remarked upon finishing the meal.<\/p>\n
In his address, the President emphasised that \u2018Sekolah Rakyat\u2019\n(People\u2019s School) represents the state\u2019s presence in assisting those\nmost in need, particularly children from low-income families, to ensure\naccess to proper education. The primary goal of the programme is to\nprovide better opportunities for communities that have historically\nfaced various limitations.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndeed, we established Sekolah Rakyat to help those who are most\nstruggling, those who are most disadvantaged,\u201d said Prabotwo.<\/p>\n
During the occasion, the President also highlighted the high level of\npublic enthusiasm for the Sekolah Rakyat programme. Based on reports\nreceived, the number of applicants at SRMP 17 Tabanan has reached\napproximately 400 students, while the school\u2019s current capacity is only\naround 270 students.<\/p>\n
Addressing this situation, the President requested that both central\nand local governments immediately find solutions so that more children\ncan access education through Sekolah Rakyat. \u201cThis means we must expand\nas quickly as possible. We will endeavour to work with regents, and if\nnecessary, the central government will seek land.
