Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto\nexplained the importance of a two-state solution to create peace in\nGaza, Palestine. This was revealed during a bilateral meeting with the\nKing of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II ibn Al\nHussein, at the Basman Palace, Amman, Wednesday (25\/2\/2026).<\/p>\n
In the introduction to the meeting, Prabowo reaffirmed his commitment\nto promoting a peaceful solution to the conflict in Palestine. According\nto him, the two-state solution is the only way out for long-term\npeace.<\/p>\n
\u201cYes, Indonesia is committed to doing whatever we can for a lasting\nsolution. And in our opinion, the only lasting peaceful solution is a\ntwo-state solution with an independent Palestine,\u201d said Prabowo.<\/p>\n
Prabowo also explained that Indonesia\u2019s decision to join the Board of\nPeace, and its support for the 20-point plan initiated by US President\nDonald Trump, were based on the desire to promote the achievement of a\npermanent peace in the region.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd that is why when we were invited to join the Peace Board, and we\nsupported President Trump\u2019s 20-point plan, it was all done with the view\nand effort to do whatever we can to achieve that lasting solution,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
For this reason, on that occasion, Prabowo also expressed his\ngratitude for Jordan\u2019s support for the Indonesian contingent and\nemphasised the importance of close coordination between the two\ncountries. He also said that Jordan is the country that is\ngeographically and politically closest to the Gaza issue.<\/p>\n
In addition to Gaza, Prabowo also highlighted the situation in the\nWest Bank, which he believes has the potential to affect various\nsuccesses of whatever we try to do in Gaza.<\/p>\n
In the future, the head of state also hopes that the two countries\ncan continue to monitor developments and strengthen strategic\ncooperation. He also stated Indonesia\u2019s readiness to support various\nefforts made by Jordan in maintaining stability.<\/p>\n
