        "content": "<p>Chairing a plenary cabinet meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on\nMonday, the president lauded Danantara leaders for consolidating and\nmerging 250 of the 1,077 companies and subsidiaries, noting the\nachievement as unique to Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no other country in the world capable of shutting down 250\nstate-owned enterprises in a year,\u201d Prabowo affirmed.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to stress that the major reduction of SOEs is only the\nbeginning of a broader restructuring drive.<\/p>\n<p>Danantara, he said, has set a target of restructuring more SOEs to\ncap the number of entities at 350.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn other words, we will have closed, merged, or consolidated around\n700 SOEs by the end of 2026.
