Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia \u2013 President Prabowo Subianto has claimed that\ncutting-edge technology can reveal hidden wealth of corrupt officials\neven if they are deep underground in bunkers.<\/p>\n
He warned that there must be no more officials bold enough to commit\nor contemplate corruption.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am sad that the current officials still attempt to corrupt. It\u2019s\nquickly exposed. There is now technology, there is radar we can use; we\ncan look underground,\u201d Prabowo said during a plenary session at the DPR\nin Jakarta on Wednesday, 20 May 2026.<\/p>\n
The technology, traditionally used to locate hidden weapon depots and\ndetect landmines, will now be deployed to track suspicious bunkers.<\/p>\n
Prabowo also warned those who conceal wealth through vast illegal\nland or plantation holdings.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo brothers and sisters who have bunkers hidden, we will find your\nwealth too. I will use the most advanced technology. Defence technology\ncan locate weapon stores underground. Radar now can search, mines can\nsearch. We will use it to locate bunkers around you,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Prabowo said the technology is not a toy. He knows corrupt\nindividuals may own expansive plantations; they think it cannot be\nchecked. In fact, bunkers can be checked via satellites, without\nphysical inspections.<\/p>\n
\u201cNo need for physical checks\u2014we can take photos. Every tree can be\nphotographed; tree by tree. So if you intend to cheat anyway, we will\nuncover your deception, fellow citizens,\u201d Prabowo said.<\/p>\n
He noted that perpetrators often operate with backing from rogue\nofficials in uniform. He urged the public to report such uniformed\nofficials if found.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut usually those people have backing. Their backing is usually\ntheir uniforms, whether green or brown. Right? I am the Gadget of all.\nFellow citizens, if any official acts improperly, I urge you to video,\nstraight away,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The green and brown uniforms refer to members of the TNI and\nPolri.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a senior, as an alumnus, I do not hesitate.. Do not tarnish the\nTNI-Polri, fellow citizens.
