President Prabowo Subianto performed the Eid al-Adha sunnah prayer\nwith Indonesian citizens and the diaspora at the Indonesian Embassy in\nParis on Wednesday, 27 May, coinciding with 10 Zulhijjah 1447 H. His\npresence at the congregational prayer created a warm and united\natmosphere for Indonesians in France.<\/p>\n
Around 8:40 am local time, amidst the takbir chants, President\nPrabowo arrived at the embassy and joined the worshippers in the prayer\nline to recite takbir before the Eid al-Adha prayer. The worship was\nconducted solemnly and attended by Indonesian nationals and diaspora who\nhad gathered at the venue since morning.<\/p>\n
The prayer was led by imam and khateeb Fakhruddin Arrozi, a master\u2019s\ngraduate of International Islamic University Islamabad currently\nteaching at Muhammadiyah University of Lamongan.<\/p>\n
In his sermon, Fakhruddin emphasised that Eid al-Adha carries not\nonly spiritual significance but also strong humanitarian values. He\nexplained that the sacrifice ritual is not merely a symbol of obedience\nto Allah, but also a reminder to share, maintain Muslim identity,\nstrengthen family ties, and foster unity, especially for Muslims living\nabroad.<\/p>\n
\u2018We are not commanded to sacrifice our children like Prophet Ibrahim\nAS, but rather to sacrifice our egos in obedience to Allah SWT,\u2019\nFakhruddin stated in his sermon, as quoted from the BPMI Setpres press\nrelease.<\/p>\n
After the prayer, President Prabowo took time to socialise with the\nIndonesian nationals and diaspora present. In a friendly atmosphere, the\nPresident greeted and shook hands with worshippers before attending a\ngathering and communal meal.<\/p>\n
The event served as a crucial moment to strengthen ties between the\nHead of State and Indonesians overseas, while fostering a sense of\nbrotherhood in celebrating Eid al-Adha far from home.
