Criticism intensified following a joint US-Israel\nmilitary assault on Iran, one of Palestine\u2019s key supporters.<\/p>\n<p>Prabowo reiterated Indonesia\u2019s position during an exclusive interview\nwith international media Bloomberg over the weekend. For Prabowo,\nIndonesia\u2019s participation aims to achieve an independent Palestine\nthrough a two-state solution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we are within it (the BoP), we can still influence and work\ntowards a long-term solution, which we believe is an independent\nPalestine, a two-state solution,\u201d Prabowo said in Hambalang, West Java,\naccording to a statement from the Indonesian Government Communication\nAgency on Tuesday, 17 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>However, Prabowo stated that plans to deploy Indonesian military\npersonnel to the Gaza Strip through the International Stabilisation\nForce (ISF) under the Board of Peace\u2019s command are currently suspended.\nAdditionally, all discussions related to the Board of Peace have also\nbeen postponed due to escalating conflict in the Middle East region.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that all parties involved in the conflict must be\nwilling to engage in dialogue. According to Prabowo, these dialogue\nefforts aim to end the war. \u201cMy advice is always to seek peaceful\noptions,\u201d Prabowo said.<\/p>\n<p>Global geopolitical tensions escalated after the US and Israel\nsuddenly attacked Iran on 28 February 2026. The joint military strike on\nIranian airspace caused infrastructure damage and civilian\ncasualties.<\/p>\n<p>The US-Israel assault also killed several leaders of the Islamic\nRepublic of Iran, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
