        "content": "<p>President Prabowo Subianto has stated that Indonesia must be prepared\nto face various difficulties arising from global conflicts, including\nthe ongoing war in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, current global geopolitical dynamics can impact\nvarious sectors, so the government and all elements of the nation need\nto be ready to confront potential challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are facing difficulties with our determination to overcome them.\nWe are not concealing the difficulties; we are not pretending\ndifficulties do not exist,\u201d said Prabowo, as quoted from a live\nbroadcast on the Presidential Secretariat\u2019s YouTube channel on Monday (9\nMarch).<\/p>\n<p>He stressed that the government will not turn a blind eye to the\nvarious challenges arising from the global situation.<\/p>\n<p>Conflicts in various regions worldwide, particularly in the Middle\nEast, according to Prabowo, have the potential to trigger economic\npressure and global uncertainty that could also be felt by\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Prabowo believes Indonesia possesses substantial\nstrength to confront these various challenges. He cited national unity\nas the nation\u2019s principal asset in facing crises.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDue to the war in the Middle East, we must be prepared to face\ndifficulties. But again, we are grateful that in fact the Indonesian\nnation possesses strength. We possess great strength,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The President expressed optimism that Indonesia is capable of\nnavigating various global challenges and even emerging from crises in a\nstronger condition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnited we are strong; united we shall face all difficulties; we\nshall emerge from all crises,\u201d the President concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The geopolitical situation in the Middle East has triggered impacts\non the global economy as world oil prices have surged.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, the rupiah exchange rate officially breached 17,000 per US\ndollar in trading on Monday (9 March).<\/p>\n<p>Bhima Yudhistira, Director of the Centre for Economic and Law Studies\n(Celios), warned that the surge in global oil prices has the potential\nto strain the state budget by hundreds of trillions of rupiah.<\/p>\n<p>He estimated that the state budget deficit could widen to 314\ntrillion rupiah if global oil prices continue to rise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe surge in oil prices has caused the worst \u2018fiscal apocalypse\u2019 in\npressure since the COVID-19 pandemic,\u201d Bhima told CNNIndonesia.com on\nSaturday (7 March).<\/p>",
