President Prabowo Subianto affirmed that all Indonesian citizens are\nshareholders in the nation\u2019s wealth. He stated that Indonesia was\nfounded on the philosophy of Pancasila and the principle of kinship.\nThis situation places all citizens as having a right to the nation\u2019s\nwealth, he said during his speech at the inauguration of the Marsinah\nLabor Hero Museum and Shelter in Nganjuk, East Java, on Saturday\n(16\/5).<\/p>\n
\u201cTo all entrepreneurs, I invite you to join together as Indonesia\nIncorporated. In essence, it is a nation of kinship,\u201d Prabowo said in a\nlive broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat\u2019s YouTube channel.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo, this entire nation is one corporation. This means that all\ncitizens are shareholders in all of Indonesia\u2019s wealth. All Indonesian\npeople have the right to this wealth,\u201d he added with great\nenthusiasm.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Prabowo mentioned Marsinah\u2019s struggle as a symbol of\nlabor resistance, which, in his opinion, should not have ended\ntragically if the values of Pancasila were properly implemented. He said\nthat the Marsinah murder case in the past serves as a reminder that the\nstate must stand to protect ordinary people, including laborers.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe incident of Marsinah being brutally murdered for fighting for\nfactory workers should not have happened at all because our country was\nfounded on the basic philosophy of Pancasila,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Prabowo stated that the fifth principle of Pancasila, concerning\nsocial justice for all Indonesian people, is the main foundation for the\nstate in building a just economic system. According to him, the concept\nof the Indonesian economy has been regulated from the beginning in\nArticle 33 of the 1945 Constitution, which emphasizes the principle of\nkinship.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe rich must help the poor, the strong must help the weak. Laborers\nare children of the nation, farmers are children of the nation,\nfishermen are children of the nation,\u201d Prabowo said. He also reminded\nstate officials, including the military and police, that they are part\nof the people, funded by the state to serve the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe military and police are children of the nation, selected,\nfinanced, paid by the people, fed by the people, given shoes by the\npeople, given hats by the people, given ranks by the people,\u201d he said.\nOn that occasion, Prabowo said he was honored to designate Marsinah as a\nNational Hero after all labor organizations unanimously proposed the\nlabor activist\u2019s name.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was honored to make her a national hero,\u201d he said. Prabowo also\nsaid he was touched when he saw Marsinah\u2019s room and belongings in the\nnewly inaugurated museum.<\/p>\n
