The Chairman of the Gerindra Party described himself as\na \u201cnews junkie\u201d or news addict.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the term refers to individuals who intensively\nmonitor developments on various issues through the media. \u201cWe are news\njunkies; we\u2019ve got it bad,\u201d said Prabowo in a statement released by the\nPresidential Secretariat on Thursday evening, 19 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Prabowo shared this story during a question-and-answer session in\nHambalang, Bogor, West Java, which took place from Wednesday evening\nuntil Thursday early morning. In the interview, Prabowo answered\nquestions from several journalists and experts he invited to his\nhome.<\/p>\n<p>Prabowo stated that he often wakes up in the early hours to follow\nglobal event developments. Usually, Prabowo said, he uses social media\nplatforms like YouTube to access various news portals.<\/p>\n<p>If there is an important event in another part of the world, Prabowo\nsaid he deliberately wakes up early to get the earliest information.\nBecause, he said, such events are often reported during sleeping hours\nin Indonesia due to time zone differences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I have to follow what happens.
