Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has admitted that he is\nfrequently reminded by his staff to deliver speeches according to\nprepared scripts.<\/p>\n
This was disclosed by Prabowo while delivering a speech at the peak\nof the Democratic Party\u2019s 25th anniversary celebrations held at the\nIndonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno area, Jakarta, on Wednesday (9\/9)\nevening.<\/p>\n
Prabowo explained the reasons why his staff often remind him to stick\nto the prepared text. However, he further clarified why he occasionally\nspeaks outside the prepared script, noting that he has already\nsummarised the essence of the document.<\/p>\n
During the Democratic Party event last night, he stated, \u201cLadies and\ngentlemen, I am indeed always reminded by my staff, \u2018Sir, use the text,\nSir. Do not deviate from the text\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
Prabowo noted that the speech text prepared by his staff for this\nDemocratic Party anniversary was very well-constructed. He mentioned\nthat the text was supplemented with comprehensive presentations and\ninfographics.<\/p>\n
Prabowo even flipped through the speech text and showed it to the\naudience. \u201cThe presentation is very good, there are many graphics,\u201d said\nPrabowo while displaying the document.<\/p>\n
However, Prabowo mentioned that he prefers to summarise the essence\nof the presentation, while hoping not to mispeak during this particular\nspeech. \u201cHopefully, I do not mispeak. But truly, if humans make\nmistakes, we simply apologise,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Regarding competition and government criticism, quoting a press\nrelease from the Government Communication Body (Bakom) shared with\njournalists, Prabowo emphasised the importance of maintaining unity and\nfriendship within a democracy, despite differences in views,\ncompetition, or criticism.<\/p>\n
Prabeway stated that democracy provides space for every party to have\ndifferent colours and perspectives. Competition, criticism, suggestions,\nand recommendations are all parts of the democratic process that must be\nrespected.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is Indonesian democracy. And today, on this stage, this is\nIndonesian democracy. Various colours. Competing, criticizing, conveying\nsuggestions, and providing recommendations. Conveying things that might\nbe unpleasant to say, but we remain harmonious, remain friendly, and\nremain like a family,\u201d Prabowo said in the speech quoted from the press\nrelease.<\/p>\n
Prabowo also touched upon the political journey of the Democratic\nParty and himself, noting experiences of both victory and defeat in\npolitical contests. He expressed great appreciation for the Democratic\nParty\u2019s stance in upholding democracy while being outside the\ngovernment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Democratic Party has won, and has not won. It has been at the\npeak, and has been in government. But when not in power, the Democratic\nParty does not insult or resort to violence,\u201d said Prabowo.<\/p>\n
On that occasion, Prabowo also expressed his appreciation for the\nsupport provided by the Democratic Party during the 2019 and 2024\nelection eras. Prabowo stated that such support demonstrates a shared\nvision and principle in building Indonesia.<\/p>\n
