President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment\nto accelerating the transformation of the national energy sector amid\nglobal dynamics demanding energy resilience and self-sufficiency.<\/p>\n
The Head of State stated that the government will implement a\nnational electrification programme through the development of renewable\nenergy, particularly solar and geothermal power.<\/p>\n
In his remarks at the first anniversary celebration of Danantara\nIndonesia, held at Wisma Danantara on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, the Head\nof State expressed his conviction that Indonesia possesses numerous\nalternative energy sources that can be developed to address future\nchallenges.<\/p>\n
\u201cRenewable energy from solar power\u2014in the shortest possible\ntimeframe, we will build 100 gigawatts. This is already my instruction,\nalready my decision, and we will prove to the world that we are faster\nand more effective in this regard,\u201d said Prabowo.<\/p>\n
According to Prabowo, compared to many other nations facing more\ndifficult conditions, Indonesia actually possesses substantial natural\nresource wealth as capital to strengthen national energy resilience.<\/p>\n
The Head of State explained that Indonesia has significant potential\nfrom various energy sources, ranging from palm oil, cassava, maize, and\nsugarcane, which can be processed into fuel.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis compels us to accelerate, we must speed up. We have many\nalternatives. We are confident that we can address this issue. Many\nnations face more difficult circumstances than us. We have abundant palm\noil. We will have sufficient cassava. We can obtain fuel from maize and\nsugarcane. We have very large geothermal resources. If I am not\nmistaken, we have the second-largest reserves in the world that have not\nbeen fully exploited,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
The Head of State further emphasised that the acceleration of\nrenewable energy development represents Indonesia\u2019s serious commitment\nto demonstrating to the world that the Indonesian nation is capable of\nmoving quickly and effectively in addressing global challenges.<\/p>\n
