        "content": "<p>PPP names new House member<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Lena Mariana Mukti is to replace cooperatives<br>\nminister Suryadharma Ali as a House of Representatives member<br>\nfrom the United Development Party (PPP), a year after Suryadharma<br>\nleft the legislative seat vacant.<\/p>\n<p>The PPP's House faction secretary, Lukman Hakim, said on<br>\nFriday the decision was reached in a meeting of the party's<br>\ncentral board on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n<p>He said the appointment of Lena, a graduate from Syarif<br>\nHidayatullah State Institute of Islamic Studies (IAIN), still<br>\nneeded approval from the General Elections Commission and<br>\nPresident Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono before she could be<br>\ninaugurated.<\/p>\n<p>\"Hopefully, the process will not take long, so Lena can soon<br>\nbe installed,\" Lukman added.<\/p>\n<p>In last year's April 5 general election, the PPP won more than<br>\n9.3 million votes, resulting in 58 of 550 legislative seats in<br>\nthe House.<\/p>\n<p>Lena will represent PPP constituents in Jakarta. --JP<\/p>",
