Java<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Central Java administration has promised to<br>\nprovide facilities to speed up the development of two giant power<br>\nplants in Jepara and Cilacap.<\/p>\n<p>The head of Central Java&apos;s investment coordinating board,<br>\nSoedarsono, said over the weekend the realization of the projects<br>\nwould help maintain the province&apos;s economic growth at a minimum<br>\nof 7 percent a year.<\/p>\n<p>The Jepara power plant will be built by a joint venture<br>\nbetween Indonesia&apos;s PT Tanjung Jati Power Company and an American<br>\ncompany. It will cost about Rp 3.9 trillion (US$1.6 billion).<\/p>\n<p>Construction will be completed by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>The plant will employ 456 workers, including 36 expatriates.<\/p>\n<p>The Cilacap power plant will cost Rp 1.4 trillion and be built<br>\nby a consortium of Indonesia&apos;s PT Citra Kartika Daya and Japanese<br>\nand Hong Kong investors.<\/p>\n<p>Soedarsono was quoted by Antara as saying his office would<br>\nprepare infrastructure and facilities to help the projects.<br>\n(jsk)<\/p>",
