Power company headquarters catches fire<\/p>\n

The headquarters of state electricity company PLN in South
\nJakarta caught fire early on Friday, with material losses
\nestimated to reach Rp 4 billion (US$400,000).<\/p>\n
Eyewitnesses said the fire, which broke out at around 6:20
\na.m., came from the third floor. No fatalities nor injuries were
\nreported in the incident.<\/p>\n
\"A team from the National Police Forensics Laboratory is
\ninvestigating the cause of the fire,\" said South Jakarta Police
\nchief Sr. Comr. Ghufron.<\/p>\n
He said police detectives would also question several officers
\nas witnesses in the incident.<\/p>\n
According to him, the preliminary investigation at the scene
\nhad led the police to believe the fire started in a auditorium on
\nthe third floor where a TVRI program that featured the PLN's 60th
\nanniversary concert was recorded the night before.<\/p>\n
The first floor houses a shopping arcade while the second,
\nmeeting rooms.<\/p>\n
The fire destroyed much of the third floor and some parts of
\nthe second floor.<\/p>\n
Eyewitnesses said the fire started on the third floor at 6:20
\na.m.<\/p>\n
\"I was doing my morning exercises when the fire was seen on
\nthe third floor,\" said an eyewitness.<\/p>\n
At least 40 fire engines were deployed to the scene and by
\n9:30 a.m. the worst was over.<\/p>\n
Police cordoned off the complex, preventing employees from
\nentering.<\/p>\n
\"There will be no office activity today. However, other PLN
\noffices will remain open. The fire at PLN headquarters won't
\ndirectly affect our service,\" PLN's spokesman Ario Subijoko said.<\/p>\n
PLN president director Eddie Widiono said that no data was
\nlost in the fire.<\/p>\n
\"The losses we suffer are limited to the building and some
\nappliances,\" he said.<\/p>",
