        "content": "<p>Potatoes a good bet for sweet dishes<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Versatile potatoes can be the main ingredient in<br>\na sweet cake, as in the first recipe below, or a variation on<br>\ntraditional perkedel spicy croquettes.<\/p>\n<p>Potato Cake<br>\n 400 grams boiled potatoes<br>\n 6 chicken eggs<br>\n 250 grams fine sugar<br>\n 1 tablespoon raising agent<br>\n 1 teaspoon vanilla essence<br>\n 150 grams flour<br>\n 1 teaspoon baking powder<br>\n 100 grams margarine, melted<br>\n 1 teaspoon lime peel, shaved<br>\n 100 grams raisins<br>\n 1 tablespoon margarine (to grease the baking pan)<br>\n 2 tablespoons of flour (to dust the cake tin)<\/p>\n<p>(Makes six servings)<\/p>\n<p>* 1. Peel the boiled potatoes and mash when still hot.<br>\n * 2. Mix the eggs, sugar, raising agent and vanilla until the<br>\nmixture is white and of a thick consistency.<br>\n * 3. Add flour, potatoes and baking powder, mix evenly, adding<br>\nmargarine and shaved lime peel. Stir evenly.<br>\n * 4. Add the raisins. Pour the batter into a greased and floured<br>\ncake tin.<br>\n * 5. Bake in a moderate oven until the top of the cake is a<br>\nbrownish color and thoroughly cooked. If desired, a glazing can<br>\nbe made from 200 grams of fine sugar mixed with three to four<br>\ntablespoonfuls of boiling water or lime juice.<\/p>\n<p>Smoked Meat Perkedel<\/p>\n<p>A croquette of spicy ground meat and mashed potatoes, although<br>\ncorn and other types of starch are sometimes used.<\/p>\n<p>1 kilogram potatoes, boiled<br>\n 400 grams oil for frying<br>\n 1  chicken egg, separated<br>\n 100 grams smoked meat, thinly sliced<br>\n 2 tablespoons fried onions<br>\n 1 tablespoon chopped celery<br>\n 1\/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder<br>\n 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)<br>\n 15 quail eggs, boiled and shelled<\/p>\n<p>(makes 15 servings)<\/p>\n<p>* 1. Peel the potatoes, wash and dice them. Fry until cooked and<br>\nmash while still warm.<br>\n * 2. Mix the potatoes with the yolk, smoked<\/p>\n<p>meat, fried onion, celery, nutmeg, pepper and salt.<br>\n * 3. Take one tablespoonful of the mixture, dip it in the egg<\/p>\n<p>white and fry until golden brown.
