Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Raya Integrated Professionals\n(Postidar) has reminded the public of the importance of maintaining\nstability and democracy amid a heating socio-political climate,\nparticularly with a demonstration planned for 27 August 2026.<\/p>\n
Postidar Presidium member Ahmad Kailani said in a statement in\nJakarta on Wednesday that the planned demonstration on 27 August 2026\nwas still considered within the corridor of democracy. According to him,\ndemonstrations are a constitutional mechanism for conveying aspirations.\nNevertheless, Postidar noted that the hard work of President Prabowo\nSubianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has begun to show\nresults in driving economic growth and national development.<\/p>\n
Kailani said that since being inaugurated on 20 October 2024, Prabowo\nand Gibran have worked hard to unite various forces domestically. Not\nonly domestically, Kailani continued, Prabowo has also championed\ndiplomacy with a spirit of friendship, as conveyed in his speech: \u2018a\nthousand friends are too few, one enemy is too many.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018So, what are the results? One by one, the fruits of President\nPrabowo\u2019s diplomatic tree are beginning to ripen. One result is the\nrevival of the Abadi Gas Field in the Masela Block, Maluku, which had\nbeen stalled for nearly 30 years,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
According to him, the project, with an investment value of more than\nRp350 trillion, is managed by Japan\u2019s INPEX with a 65 percent stake,\nPertamina with 20 percent, and Petronas with 15 percent. The project\nalso underwent a groundbreaking ceremony conducted by President Prabowo\nin early July 2026.<\/p>\n
\u2018Another piece of evidence is economic growth of 5.6 percent in the\nfirst quarter of 2026, which is considered quite significant,\u2019 he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
However, he continued, the government\u2019s hard work, which has begun to\nhave an impact on society, is now being disturbed by various narratives\ndeveloping through social media opinion and demonstrations, including\nthe planned action on 27 August 2026.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Postidar Presidium member Agus Teddy Sumantri said the\nsustainability of social and economic stability is the main foundation\nfor Indonesia\u2019s progress. Therefore, Teddy assessed that the planned\ndemonstration on 27 August 2026 must be conducted in an orderly manner\nand must not disrupt national stability.<\/p>\n
\u2018Indonesia is currently in an important growing-up phase, a momentum\nof economic growth that requires focus, hard work, and synergy from all\nelements of the nation,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n
Teddy said that amid increasingly complex global uncertainty and\nchallenges, national stability is the main asset for Indonesia to\ncompete and survive on the international stage.<\/p>\n
Another Postidar Presidium member, Sulaiman Haikal, expressed\nconfidence that the action on 27 August 2026 would not cause anything\nthat could shake the country\u2019s stability. According to Haikal, economic\nactors and professional circles assess that democracy in Indonesia has\nbecome increasingly mature. He also believes the public will always\n\u2018stand guard\u2019 if there are attempts to force political agendas outside\nthe corridors of democracy and law.<\/p>\n
Postidar also highlighted a statement by Projo Chairman Budi Arie\nSetiadi that has been widely discussed on social media ahead of 27\nAugust 2026. In one circulating video, Budi Arie, at a forum attended by\nIndonesia\u2019s 7th President Joko Widodo, said the Prabowo administration\nwould \u2018not last until 2029\u2019 and mentioned the possibility of \u2018political\nacceleration\u2019.<\/p>\n
Responding to the statement, Postidar expressed regret over remarks\ncoming from a former minister. Postidar Presidium member Thurman\nSimanjuntak assessed that Budi Arie\u2019s statement has the potential to\ncause unnecessary commotion and uncertainty for the public.<\/p>\n
\u2018If the statement is Budi Arie\u2019s personal view, then he needs to\nexplain it openly and not hide solely behind the excuse of a truncated\nvideo. The public has the right to a complete explanation,\u2019 said\nThurman.<\/p>\n
