The Indonesian Raya Integrated Professionals (Postidar) has urged the public to safeguard national stability and democracy ahead of planned demonstrations on 27 August 2026. The organisation acknowledged the right to protest but warned against actions that could disrupt the economic progress achieved under President Prabowo Subianto's administration. Postidar also criticised remarks by Projo chairman Budi Arie Setiadi suggesting the Prabowo government may not last until 2029, calling for unity and concrete work rather than political speculation.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Raya Integrated Professionals
(Postidar) has reminded the public of the importance of maintaining
stability and democracy amid a heating socio-political climate,
particularly with a demonstration planned for 27 August 2026.

Postidar Presidium member Ahmad Kailani said in a statement in
Jakarta on Wednesday that the planned demonstration on 27 August 2026
was still considered within the corridor of democracy. According to him,
demonstrations are a constitutional mechanism for conveying aspirations.
Nevertheless, Postidar noted that the hard work of President Prabowo
Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has begun to show
results in driving economic growth and national development.

Kailani said that since being inaugurated on 20 October 2024, Prabowo
and Gibran have worked hard to unite various forces domestically. Not
only domestically, Kailani continued, Prabowo has also championed
diplomacy with a spirit of friendship, as conveyed in his speech: ‘a
thousand friends are too few, one enemy is too many.’

‘So, what are the results? One by one, the fruits of President
Prabowo’s diplomatic tree are beginning to ripen. One result is the
revival of the Abadi Gas Field in the Masela Block, Maluku, which had
been stalled for nearly 30 years,’ he said.

According to him, the project, with an investment value of more than
Rp350 trillion, is managed by Japan’s INPEX with a 65 percent stake,
Pertamina with 20 percent, and Petronas with 15 percent. The project
also underwent a groundbreaking ceremony conducted by President Prabowo
in early July 2026.

‘Another piece of evidence is economic growth of 5.6 percent in the
first quarter of 2026, which is considered quite significant,’ he
said.

However, he continued, the government’s hard work, which has begun to
have an impact on society, is now being disturbed by various narratives
developing through social media opinion and demonstrations, including
the planned action on 27 August 2026.

Meanwhile, Postidar Presidium member Agus Teddy Sumantri said the
sustainability of social and economic stability is the main foundation
for Indonesia’s progress. Therefore, Teddy assessed that the planned
demonstration on 27 August 2026 must be conducted in an orderly manner
and must not disrupt national stability.

‘Indonesia is currently in an important growing-up phase, a momentum
of economic growth that requires focus, hard work, and synergy from all
elements of the nation,’ he said.

Teddy said that amid increasingly complex global uncertainty and
challenges, national stability is the main asset for Indonesia to
compete and survive on the international stage.

Another Postidar Presidium member, Sulaiman Haikal, expressed
confidence that the action on 27 August 2026 would not cause anything
that could shake the country’s stability. According to Haikal, economic
actors and professional circles assess that democracy in Indonesia has
become increasingly mature. He also believes the public will always
‘stand guard’ if there are attempts to force political agendas outside
the corridors of democracy and law.

Postidar also highlighted a statement by Projo Chairman Budi Arie
Setiadi that has been widely discussed on social media ahead of 27
August 2026. In one circulating video, Budi Arie, at a forum attended by
Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo, said the Prabowo administration
would ‘not last until 2029’ and mentioned the possibility of ‘political
acceleration’.

Responding to the statement, Postidar expressed regret over remarks
coming from a former minister. Postidar Presidium member Thurman
Simanjuntak assessed that Budi Arie’s statement has the potential to
cause unnecessary commotion and uncertainty for the public.

‘If the statement is Budi Arie’s personal view, then he needs to
explain it openly and not hide solely behind the excuse of a truncated
video. The public has the right to a complete explanation,’ said
Thurman.

According to him, Indonesia currently needs unity and concrete work,
not speculation about political change. ‘What Indonesia needs is not
speculation about political change, but unity and concrete work,’ he
said.
",
