Post office explains<\/p>\n
Referring to Mr. John Thomas's letter entitled Post office's
\nresponsibility to The Jakarta Post of Aug. 21, 1997, we would
\nlike to explain as follows:<\/p>\n
* The articles had been sent from St. Kilda South Post Office on
\nApril 8, 1997. And we still do not know for sure the kind of
\nservice used and the details of the articles (whether it was sent
\nby postal parcel, by mail, by EMS or by other services).
\nTherefore, it is difficult for us to investigate it.<\/p>\n
* However, we have contacted the Australian Post Office by fax on
\nSept. 12, 1997. Please refer to: 15563\/Divket\/Opsar\/97 for
\nfurther information.<\/p>\n
* The Australian Post informed us on Sept. 17, 1997, also by fax,
\nthat they would investigate it. On Oct. 8, 1997 the Australian
\nPost said that they had sent a letter asking for the details of
\nthe mail and the address, but there was no response,<\/p>\n
* So, we appreciate your help for asking the sender to contact
\nSt. Kilda South Post Office or International Customer Service,
\nGPO Box 72-B, Melbourne, VIC 3001 (phone +613 9204 7131) to
\nprovide the details of the articles.<\/p>\n
