In addition to accelerating the construction of temporary housing\n(huntara), the Post-Disaster Recovery and Reconstruction Task Force\n(Satgas PRR) is also ensuring the availability of basic facilities and\nlogistical assistance. These steps are being taken to ensure that the\ndaily needs of the affected communities continue to be met during the\nrecovery period.<\/p>\n
According to data from Satgas PRR as of 6 May 2026, the total number\nof huntara units completed in the three affected provinces has reached\n19,169 units. This figure represents 93 percent of the target of 20,433\nunits.<\/p>\n
In Aceh, huntara construction has reached 17,315 units out of a\ntarget of 18,579 units, or 93 percent. Meanwhile, construction in North\nSumatra and West Sumatra has been completed 100 percent, with 1,024\nunits and 830 units respectively.<\/p>\n
Spokesperson for Satgas PRR, Amran, stated that the huntara\nconstruction involves many parties. The participants range from\nministries and government agencies to communities and non-governmental\nparties that are helping to accelerate the handling of disaster\nsurvivors.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have many parties involved as implementers. Not only from BNPB,\nbut also from Danantara, PU, and several other parties that are\nassisting, including some communities. Overall, this is still in\nprocess,\u201d said Amran in a written statement on Thursday (7\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n
Amran explained that huntara construction is still ongoing in several\nlocations. The work is being carried out in stages according to field\nconditions.<\/p>\n

In addition to preparing temporary shelters, Satgas PRR is also\ndistributing logistical assistance to support the needs of survivors\nwhile staying in the huntara.<\/p>\n
In Aceh, the assistance distributed includes 44,194 food aid\npackages, 56,042 mattresses, 15,253 stoves, 14,284 electric fans, 6,029\nmattresses, 40,749 folding mattresses, and 13,813 plastic carpets.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in North Sumatra, the assistance distributed covers 1,719\nfood aid packages, 4,016 mattresses, 599 stoves, 562 electric fans, 562\nmattresses, and 3,154 folding mattresses.<\/p>\n
In West Sumatra, the assistance distributed includes 2,490 food aid\npackages, 2,444 mattresses, 611 stoves, 611 electric fans, 611\nmattresses, 2,444 folding mattresses, and 611 plastic carpets.<\/p>\n
This assistance is part of Satgas PRR\u2019s efforts to ensure that\nhuntara is not only a temporary shelter. Huntara is also expected to\nprovide basic comfort for the affected communities who are beginning to\nreorganise their lives.<\/p>\n
The benefits of huntara are already being felt by residents of Desa\nSekumur, Kecamatan Sekerak, Aceh Tamiang Regency. This area was one of\nthe regions heavily impacted by flooding.<\/p>\n
The Village Planning Officer of Desa Sekumur, Fauzi, said that the\npresence of huntara has become a turning point for residents who\npreviously lived for months in emergency tents.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlhamdulillah, the community is very helped. Now we no longer live\nin tents. This certainly increases comfort and the spirit of the\nresidents to rise again,\u201d said Fauzi when met on Thursday\n(30\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
According to Fauzi, in addition to housing, the basic needs of the\nresidents are also starting to be met through government and volunteer\nassistance.
