The Post-Disaster Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Task Force\n(Satgas PRR) for Sumatra is accelerating the construction of temporary\nhousing units (huntara) to reduce the number of flood evacuees still\nsheltering in tents across Aceh, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra\n(Sumbar).<\/p>\n
According to the Satgas PRR daily report as of 12 March, the number\nof completed temporary housing units across the three affected provinces\nhas increased to 15,346 units out of a total 18,781 units planned for\nconstruction, representing 81 per cent progress on the housing project.\nThis represents an increase of approximately 3 per cent compared with\ntwo days earlier, when 14,725 units had been completed.<\/p>\n
The breakdown of temporary housing unit construction shows that in\nAceh, 13,547 units have been completed out of a total 16,931 units\nplanned, achieving 80 per cent progress. In North Sumatra, 969 units\nhave been completed out of 1,020 units planned, reaching 95 per cent\nprogress. In West Sumatra, all 830 planned units have been completed,\nachieving 100 per cent progress.<\/p>\n
The Satgas PRR also reported on progress with permanent housing\nconstruction (huntap). As of 12 March, 1,463 units are currently under\nconstruction out of 36,669 total units planned.
