        "content": "<p>Possible attack anticipated<\/p>\n<p>JAYAPURA, Irian Jaya (JP): Provincial security authorities<br>\nhave beefed up security around the compound of giant copper and<br>\ngold mining company PT Freeport Indonesia in Timika district<br>\nfollowing a threat of an armed attack here on Aug. 1.<\/p>\n<p>Aug. 1 is also the anniversary of the establishment of the<br>\nTrikora Military Command overseeing Irian Jaya province.<\/p>\n<p>Both Trikora Military Commander Maj. Gen. Mahidin Simbolon and<br>\nIrian Jaya Police chief Insp. Gen. I Made Mangku Pastika stated<br>\non Wednesday their readiness to repel an attack.<\/p>\n<p>Both commanders said that a number of police and military<br>\npersonnel from the police's Mobile Brigade and Army's Strategic<br>\nReserves Command (Kostrad) along with other security task forces<br>\nhad been stationed in the Freeport compound.<\/p>\n<p>\"PT Freeport is a vital project that is closely related to our<br>\nnation's image in the international community.
