Portuguese reporters deported<\/p>\n
KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: Three Portuguese reporters
\narrested by police for illegally entering East Nusa Tenggara from
\nEast Timor were deported to East Timor on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The three reporters from SIC Television, identified as Faria
\nFernando Jorge Castro, 28, De Oliveira Ferreira, 29, and Stoffel
\nPereira Countinho, 25, were apprehended in the North Timor Tengah
\ntown of Mota Ain, which is adjacent to East Timor, the head of
\nthe local immigration office, Gatot Suharyono, said.<\/p>\n
\"They were apprehended as they were interviewing an East
\nTimorese figure living in East Nusa Tenggara,\" Gatot was quoted
\nby Antara as saying.<\/p>\n
He said the three entered Mota Ain from Dili, the capital of
\nEast Timor, on Feb. 2 without asking permission from the local
\nimmigration office, although they possessed a visa from the
\nIndonesian consulate in Darwin, Australia. (jun)<\/p>",
