Porsche to enter Thailand<\/p>\n
BANGKOK (AFP): German sports car manufacturer Porsche AG will
\nsend a mission to explore investment possibilities in Thailand, a
\nThai Board of Investment (BoI) official said yesterday.<\/p>\n
Porsche officials had approached the BoI office in Frankfurt,
\nand would next week visit Thailand to discuss the possibility of
\nsetting up a parts production facility, said BoI deputy
\nsecretary-general Chakramon Phasukavanich.<\/p>\n
Thailand is the largest auto producer in Southeast Asia. Plans
\nto draw further investment and establish the country as a
\nregional center and export base for the industry are a key to
\nhopes of reviving the flagging economy.<\/p>\n
\"I still believe that despite the economic difficulties,
\ninvestors who regard Thailand as a base for the regional car
\nindustry and for exports beyond (Southeast Asia), they will make
\nthe right decision,\" Chakramon said.<\/p>",
