Poor management of Hutama Karya<\/p>\n
On Saturday, Aug. 24, about 10:30 a.m., while I was driving my
\ncar, Registration No. B 8078 MT, from Cempaka Putih crossroads
\ntowards the entrance to ITC Cempaka Mas, the iron-sheeting fence
\nseparating the street and Hutama Karya's Cempaka Putih flyover
\nconstruction project, fell and hit the left side of my car,
\ndenting the body of the car and the bumper as well as breaking
\nthe left turning signal lamp.<\/p>\n
I immediately stopped my car before some construction project
\nworkers about 10 meters from where this fence had fallen but
\nproceeded again after the workers told me that nothing had
\nhappened to my car.<\/p>\n
It was only when I got home that I realized that the body of
\nthe car had been dented. I quickly drove to the site of the
\nflyover construction project and found nobody there.<\/p>\n
On Monday, Aug. 24, about 9:30 a.m., I contacted Budi Miradi,
\nthe general superintendent of the project, and he told me to see
\nAspian, who is responsible for insurance affairs of the project.
\nAbout 10:30 a.m. I met Aspian and showed him what my car had
\nsustained and how it had been dented. He promised to pass on this
\ncomplaint to his superior.<\/p>\n
On Aug. 25, I filed a written a claim, through Aspian, to PT
\nHutama Karya -- Cempaka Putih Flyover Construction Project for
\ndamages worth Rp 2.6 million. Unfortunately, PT Hutama Karya has
\nyet to respond to this claim, either in writing or by telephone.<\/p>\n
It is really a shame that as a large company, PT Hutama Karya,
\nfails to properly apply risk management and cannot settle my
\nclaim for the damage to my car because of its project. I can
\nalways ask for a crash analysis to prove what has really dented
\nthe body and the bumper of my car but the cost of this analysis
\nis much bigger than the claim I have filed for the damages.<\/p>\n
