Poltracking\u2019s 5 Recommendations for Prabowo-Gibran as Approval\nFalls<\/p>\n

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta \u2013 Indonesian pollster Poltracking Indonesia has\noutlined five recommendations for improving the performance of President\nPrabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka\u2019s\nadministration as public satisfaction with the government continues to\ndecline.<\/p>\n
Senior Poltracking researcher Masduri Amrawi said Monday that the\ngovernment still had a public trust rating of 63.2 percent, giving it\nroom to address areas of concern.<\/p>\n
A Poltracking survey conducted from August 14 to 20 found that 55.1\npercent of respondents were satisfied with the administration\u2019s\nperformance, while 63.2 percent said they trusted the government.<\/p>\n
Public satisfaction has fallen steadily, from 78.1 percent in October\n2025 to 74.1 percent in March 2026, 72.2 percent in May, 58.4 percent in\nJuly and 55.1 percent in August.<\/p>\n
Poltracking\u2019s first recommendation is for the government to focus on\nprotecting household purchasing power and expanding employment\nopportunities.<\/p>\n
The survey found that 44.3 percent of respondents identified high\nprices of basic necessities as their main concern. Meanwhile, 62.5\npercent said their household spending was higher than a year\nearlier.<\/p>\n
The findings come as satisfaction with the government\u2019s economic\nperformance stood at just 41.8 percent, the lowest among the policy\nareas surveyed.<\/p>\n
The second recommendation is to evaluate and sharpen the\nimplementation of the government\u2019s priority programs, including the Free\nNutritious Meals (MBG) program and the Red-and-White Village\nCooperatives (KDMP).<\/p>\n
Poltracking said the programs should be implemented in ways that\nprovide more tangible benefits to the public.<\/p>\n
Poltracking also recommended improvements in government governance\nand public communication.<\/p>\n
The recommendation comes amid varying levels of public satisfaction\nacross policy areas. Satisfaction with political affairs and national\nstability stood at 51.9 percent, while law enforcement and corruption\neradication received a 48.3 percent satisfaction rating.<\/p>\n
The fourth recommendation focuses on strengthening law enforcement\nand efforts to combat corruption.<\/p>\n
The survey recorded a satisfaction rate of 48.3 percent for law\nenforcement and corruption eradication, placing the area below\neducation, social and cultural affairs, healthcare, and defense and\nsecurity.<\/p>\n
Poltracking\u2019s fifth recommendation is to strengthen checks and\nbalances while maintaining coordination between the president and vice\npresident.<\/p>\n
\u201cPrabowo and Gibran\u2019s cohesion, if balanced by proportional\nparliamentary oversight, could contribute to a dynamic and productive\ndemocratic environment,\u201d Masduri said.<\/p>\n
Public Satisfaction Continues to Fall<\/p>\n
Poltracking\u2019s August survey found the highest satisfaction levels in\neducation at 63.9 percent, followed by social and cultural affairs at\n63.7 percent, healthcare at 62.6 percent, and defense and security at\n61.6 percent.<\/p>\n
The overall satisfaction rating of 55.1 percent represents a\nsignificant decline from 78.1 percent recorded in October 2025.<\/p>\n
The survey involved 1,220 respondents across Indonesia\u2019s 38 provinces\nand was conducted through face-to-face interviews from August 14 to 20,\n2026.<\/p>\n
Poltracking used a stratified multistage random sampling method, with\na margin of error of approximately 2.9 percentage points at a 95 percent\nconfidence level.<\/p>\n
