        "content": "<p>JAKARTA - Polri showcased the performance achievements of the Labour\nDesk during the May Day or International Labour Day 2026 momentum. Since\nits establishment, the desk has received 144 reports of complaints\nregarding labour criminal acts, with 35 cases among them already\nresolved. Deputy Chief of Police Komjen Dedi Prasetyo stated that the\nLabour Desk represents a concrete form of the state\u2019s presence in\nproviding protection to workers and labourers. \u201cThe directive from the\nPresident during the 2026 May Day celebration reaffirms that the state\nis present to protect workers and labourers. Polri, through the Labour\nDesk, ensures that this protection is realised through consultation\nservices, complaints, and professional, transparent, and fair law\nenforcement,\u201d Dedi said in his statement on Saturday (2\/5\/2026). From\nthe total of 144 reports received, 35 cases have been resolved, with\ndetails of one case declared complete (P21) and 34 others resolved\nthrough the restorative justice mechanism or restorative justice.\nMeanwhile, 109 reports are still in the handling process. The cases\nhandled cover various labour issues, such as termination of employment\n(PHK) and severance pay, wage disputes, suppression of worker unions,\nBPJS issues, and workplace safety protection. \u201cThe Polri Labour Desk\nprovides integrated consultation, complaint, and reporting services for\nlabour criminal acts. We ensure that every report is handled quickly,\ntransparently, and accountably, prioritising cross-sector synergy,\u201d\nrevealed Irhamni. In addition to case handling, Polri also recorded\nseveral other achievements, such as the development of competency\nstandards for Labour Desk officers, international awards, and handling\nof migrant worker cases.
